Update from Rwanda
We spent several days out in the rural region of Southeast Rwanda. We stayed in Kibungo but visited many villages and saw their reconciliation and economic projects. We helped with construction of Lutheran church in Kirehe and got to meet with many in congregation and ate in one of their homes. We will be providing financial assistance for their building. Pastor John Russindintwarene, asst. to Bishop of Lutheran Church in Rwanda, also showed us his reconciliation project with the Anglica church youth and we went to their village in banana fields where the congregation is building houses for a former prisoner convicted of genocide in village. They are also building house for orphans of parents that this man killed. The man convicted of genocide will do extended community service. It is an incredible example of reconcilation and forgiveness.
